Land Management System on Power Platform

Problem

One of the largest US homebuilders was tracking land acquisition, entitlement, and its development pipeline across a fragmented set of spreadsheets and legacy tools. It needed a custom Land Management System to replace them.

Approach

Architected and delivered a model-driven Power Apps solution with complex data relationships, role-based access, and Dynamics 365 integration. ALM Accelerator enforced deployment discipline across environments.

Lennar’s land acquisition and development pipeline ran on a patchwork of spreadsheets and legacy tools. Tracking a parcel through acquisition, entitlement, and development meant manual coordination across teams, with no reliable single source of truth for pipeline status or land asset data.

The Land Management System was built as a model-driven Power Apps application on Dataverse. The data model follows the full lifecycle of a land asset, from initial acquisition through entitlement milestones to active development. Role-based access keeps each team’s visibility scoped to its function. Dynamics 365 integration ties land data into the broader business context, and ALM Accelerator pipelines manage deployment across environments, the same discipline applied on the Adidas engagement.

Data modelling was where the real complexity lived. Land transactions involve conditional relationships, multi-party ownership structures, and date-driven milestone tracking, none of which maps cleanly to simple table designs. Getting the Dataverse schema right upfront avoided the structural rework that kills Power Platform projects at the data layer.

The workflow automation cut approval processing time by roughly 60%, speeding decisions and shrinking the opportunity cost of delayed acquisitions. Administrative overhead fell by an estimated 40%, and the ALM Accelerator configuration alone halved deployment time.
